The Mayan ruins of Tulum is located on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea, which makes it one of the most picturesque ruins that you can visit in Mexico. However, if you are appalled by the touristy nature of these sites, you can visit Ek Balam, a relatively lesser known site which what built anywhere during 100 BC and 300 AD.

2. Visit Los Cabos

The beautiful province of Los Cabos is one of the ultimate places you can visit to have an insanely beautiful seaside holiday. This region of Mexico enjoys almost 350 days of sunshine every year and boasts off a coastline which stretches nearly 1400 miles from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean. With this huge coastline, Los Cabos has some of the most beautiful beaches you can find in the country. Playa Del Amor or the Lovers Beach is particularly popular for its isolated location, and lean, white sand beach. The most iconic site of Los Cabos is probably the Arch of Cabo San Lucas. This beautiful arch formation made of limestone creates a truly iconic image of Los Cabos, which has become almost synonymous with its name. You have to visit Los Cabos if you want to enjoy a beautiful seaside vacation in Mexico.

3. Roam around the historic centre of Mexico City

The Mayan people had built their ancient empire on Lake Texcoco in the Valley of Mexico. This great city was connected by various canals and guarded by fortresses. However, when the Spaniards arrived in the 16th Century, they destroyed this city, drained the lake, and built a ‘city of palaces’ over its ruins which served as the capital of New Spain. After gaining its independence, Mexico did not move its capital. The added stylistic influences on top of these ancient ruins have moulded into what we know as the centre of Mexico City today. Its museums, cathedrals, and temples sing a song of an ancient past. It houses the second largest public square in the world, the Zocalo, which is a short distance away from various other important sites. A walk through this historic centre of Mexico City is a must, while you spend your vacation in Mexico.
